Cathy joined the NHS as an auxiliary nurse in 1979, before training as a nurse, midwife and health visitor. Cathy has over 28 years experience in the NHS as a clinician and a manager.
For the last seven years, Cathy has been working as a Chief Executive of a Primary Care Trust. As well as nursing qualifications, Cathy has two Masters degrees, a teaching qualification and is currently undertaking further training around coaching.
Cathy also spent some time in the USA working as a nurse on a children’s camp and undertook an expedition to Alaska and the Yukon. Throughout her career, Cathy has also had the opportunity to look at other health care systems in both New Zealand and the USA, and to bring back some of the learning and put it into practice in the UK.
Her main interests lie in coaching, leadership development, strategy and organisational development and change and she enjoys the challenge of working with clinicians and patients.
Cathy lives in Yorkshire and is passionate about travel and fresh air!
